Associate Corporate Counsel - Quick Commerce and Real Estate (MENA, Turkey, South Africa)

About the role

Amazon is looking for an Associate Corporate Counsel for its Quick Commerce and Real Estate business across the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and South Africa. The role partners with Quick Commerce, Real Estate, Operations and Compliance teams to acquire, lease, build out, launch and manage sites that power ultra-fast delivery, covering both quick commerce sites and the wider real estate portfolio including logistics facilities and delivery infrastructure. It is a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional position.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft leases and third-party service agreements for dark stores, micro-fulfilment sites and ultra-fast delivery hubs
• Manage rapid, high-volume site acquisition pipelines with compressed timelines and non-standard structures
• Negotiate and draft leases, build-to-suit agreements, development agreements and purchase contracts for logistics and operational facilities
• Advise on construction and fit-out contracts, project management agreements and enabling works packages
• Support compliance with local real estate, planning and construction regulations and advise on site compliance for new launches
• Handle landlord disputes, lease terminations and enforcement, coordinating with local counsel
• Work with Quick Commerce, Operations, Finance, Tax, Compliance and Construction teams from site selection through launch
• Coordinate and manage outside counsel, overseeing legal strategy, quality and costs
• Mitigate legal risks, stay current on regional real estate laws and trends, and improve legal processes with playbooks and templates

Required profile

• 3+ years of post-bar-admission legal experience
• Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• Experience in real estate, construction or related transactional practice
• Fluent speaking, writing and reading in English
• Preferred: mixed corporate law firm and in-house experience, work across MENA, Turkey or South Africa, quick commerce, logistics or retail real estate, high-volume site acquisition, construction contracts (FIDIC or equivalent), managing outside counsel and legal budgets, and Arabic and/or Turkish
