About the role
We are seeking an Associate Director for Priority Banking who will act as a strategic client‑relations professional, focusing on acquiring and onboarding new high‑net‑worth clients while managing an existing portfolio. The role combines business development, digital agenda leadership and compliance oversight within Standard Chartered’s Wealth and Retail Banking division.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans for revenue generation, business development and digital transformation.
- Generate new business to meet targets for customer numbers, volume, product mix and liability growth.
- Induct new‑to‑bank customers sourced by branches and direct sales teams.
- Create sales call plans and acquire large prospective customers through referrals.
- Maintain and update sales MIS, including calls, prospects and business outcomes.
- Deliver high‑quality customer service, manage complaints and drive client satisfaction and retention.
- Lead by example, foster a strong culture, and collaborate with risk and control partners.
- Ensure KYC/AML compliance, detect suspicious transactions and uphold anti‑bribery and financial crime policies.
- Obtain the Security & Commodity Authority (SCA) licence within six months and complete continuous professional development thereafter.
Required profile
- Proven sales and relationship‑management experience in banking and investment products.
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Extensive network within the UAE HNI community and deep understanding of the local business environment.
- Ability to work in a multicultural setting and lead teams.
- In‑depth knowledge of capital markets and financial planning.
- SCA certification (or willingness to obtain within six months).
