Associate Professor – Digital Journalism (PhD required)

About the role

The university seeks an Associate Professor to lead its Digital Journalism program. The successful candidate will teach a range of specialised courses and drive innovation in digital news production.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses such as data journalism, social media journalism, mobile journalism, and digital writing/editing.
• Integrate new technologies for multimedia storytelling, combining image, sound, and text into cohesive digital content.
• Develop and update curricula in collaboration with local media institutions and community partners.
• Participate in research activities and publish in internationally indexed journals.
• Contribute to university initiatives, propose projects, and support service activities across the college.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Digital Journalism or Digital Media.
• Minimum five years of university teaching experience and five years of professional journalism experience.
• Track record of research published in Scopus‑indexed journals.
• Demonstrated ability to design and renew curricula.
• Strong commitment to student mentorship and career guidance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital cameras for news gathering.
• Experience using audio capture devices and related software.
• Competence in digital content production software for multimedia storytelling.
