Associate Professor – Large Animal Medicine & Surgery

About the role

The Department of Veterinary Medicine seeks a senior academic to join as an Associate (or Full) Professor specializing in large-animal Medicine and Surgery. The successful candidate will help shape a modern veterinary clinical education ecosystem and lead the development of large-animal clinical services, training platforms, and translational research programmes in the UAE and GCC.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures, practical sessions and clinical instruction in large-animal medicine and surgery.
• Lead the planning, design and implementation of a veterinary clinical teaching facility at Al Foah University Farm.
• Collaborate on the creation of a clinical skills laboratory for hands-on diagnostic, surgical and anaesthetic training.
• Continuously develop and update the clinical veterinary curriculum with current best practices.
• Conduct scholarly research, secure external funding and publish peer-reviewed papers.
• Mentor students, supervise senior projects and guide career development.
• Engage with industry, farms, racing stables, camel breeders and governmental bodies.
• Participate in departmental and college administrative duties and accreditation activities.
