Associate Staff Physician – Cardiac Surgery

About the role

The Associate Staff Physician in Cardiac Surgery provides expert clinical care to patients at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, performing surgeries and managing postoperative treatment within a world‑class cardiac program.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and deliver comprehensive cardiac surgical patient care.
• Prescribe and administer medications, therapies, and specialized treatments.
• Analyze medical records, reports, and test results to diagnose conditions.
• Explain procedures, test results, and treatment plans to patients and families.
• Perform cardiac surgical operations in accordance with departmental privileges and regulations.
• Document patient evaluations, treatment notes, and referrals.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical and non‑medical staff to ensure high‑quality care.
• Participate in committees, task forces, and performance‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide on‑call coverage as required and adhere to ethical and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS, MBChB, DO) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a recognized cardiac surgery specialty qualification.
• Experience requirements vary by country tier: no additional experience for Tier 1/2 specialists; ≥3 years post‑qualification experience for Tier 3; ≥1 year for UAE nationals.
• Maintain certification requirements where applicable.
