Associate/Assistant Professor – Midwifery

About the role

RAK Medical and Health Sciences University is seeking experienced midwifery academics to join its College of Nursing as either an Associate Professor or Assistant Professor. The position involves teaching, mentoring, and advancing research in midwifery within a dynamic health‑sciences environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in midwifery using modern pedagogical methods.
• Supervise student research projects and theses.
• Develop and lead research initiatives, publish in indexed journals, and secure external funding.
• Participate in curriculum development, academic committees, and community outreach.
• Provide mentorship and professional development for junior faculty and students.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Midwifery from an internationally recognised institution.
• PhD in Midwifery (mandatory).
• For Associate Professor: minimum six years of post‑PhD teaching experience in an accredited College of Nursing.
• For Assistant Professor: minimum one year of post‑PhD teaching experience in an accredited College of Nursing.
• Significant professional experience as a practising midwife.
• Strong, active research record with recent indexed publications.
• Excellent English communication skills.
