Backend Engineer (Go/JS) for Decentralized Exchange

About the role

Mintlayer is seeking two Backend Engineers to design and operate the high‑concurrency service layer that powers its decentralized exchange and related web services within the Bitcoin ecosystem. The role focuses on building scalable micro‑services, managing off‑chain order matching, and integrating with blockchain nodes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend micro‑services that support the exchange and broader web service suite.
• Implement off‑chain order book logic, trade matching, and real‑time liquidity monitoring.
• Create middleware to connect Go/JS services with core blockchain networks.
• Optimize services for low latency, high availability, and thread‑safe operation under thousands of concurrent requests.
• Apply industry‑standard security practices for handling sensitive data.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript) with deep knowledge of asynchronous programming and micro‑service architecture.
• Experience building components for decentralized exchanges, API gateways, or blockchain indexing services.
• Proven ability to design and implement RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB) databases for real‑time data tracking.
