Backend Software Engineer (Golang) – Remote

About the role

1inch is a leading DeFi ecosystem that connects users and blockchain networks through high‑performance backend services. As a Backend Software Engineer you will design, build and operate Golang‑based APIs that power swaps, limit orders and liquidity tools for a global user base.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, extend and maintain backend services and public APIs used by 1inch products and internal platforms.
• Improve scalability, reliability, maintainability and developer experience of distributed systems.
• Design and implement integrations with smart‑contract platforms, blockchain data sources and external services.
• Contribute to observability, monitoring, incident response and post‑mortem processes.
• Optimize performance, resilience and operational efficiency of backend services.
• Collaborate with product, blockchain and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable distributed systems.
• Participate in code reviews, testing workflows and engineering best practices.
• For senior engineers, own services end‑to‑end, define technical direction and mentor other engineers.

Required profile

• Professional experience building and operating backend systems in production.
• Strong proficiency in Golang or a comparable systems programming language with solid concurrency and performance knowledge.
• Solid understanding of system design fundamentals, including services, data flows, reliability and maintainability.
• Familiarity with blockchain platforms, smart contracts, transaction handling and on‑chain integrations.
• Experience with containerised services and modern deployment practices.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced engineering environment.
