Bartender

About the role

Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, part of Anantara Hotels & Resorts and Minor Hotels, is hiring a bartender. The role serves guests according to Minor Hotels' standards of food and beverage quality, presentation and sanitation, in a gracious and professional manner, within the resort's bar.

Key responsibilities

• Serve guests professionally, displaying national hospitality and pride in service, quality, appearance and cleanliness.
• Follow Beverage Department Standard Operating Procedures and suggest improvements.
• Set up the bar at opening, including liquor, ice, glassware, juices and garnishes.
• Process drink orders in proper calling order, check the number of drinks and manage billing quickly and efficiently.
• Make cocktails according to the Minor Hotels Resorts & Spas standard beverage manual, using full standard measures.
• Receive and check liquor against the previous shift's requisitions; report discrepancies to the Beverage Manager.
• Manage security in the work area and stay in the bar unless relieved by a colleague.
• Assist with cleanup: mopping floors, removing cans and bottles, cleaning rails and counters, and clearing melting ice from bins.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Previous bartending experience in a luxury hotel and restaurant.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a busy environment.
• Good memory, attention to detail, patience, teamwork, reliability and calmness under pressure.
• Friendly communication, active listening and professional handling of customer requests.
• Good spoken English is commonly useful; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes and drink preparation techniques.
• POS operation, payment processing and accurate transaction handling.
