Recreation Attendant

About the role

Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort, part of Anantara Hotels & Resorts, is looking for a Recreation Attendant to help run its Sports & Recreation department on a day-to-day basis. The role covers sports and leisure activities, the gym, water sports and guest engagement, with the aim of achieving high levels of guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Create new, unique activities drawing on the cultural, sporting and other offerings of the local area, and monitor their success through participant numbers and guest feedback.
• Ensure outsourced services meet maintenance standards and that all activities take place safely, following health and safety codes and the Minor Hotels Children programme.
• Use qualified attendants where required (fitness leaders, aerobic instructors, lifeguards).
• Keep equipment clean and well maintained in the gym, sports areas and water sports facilities, and maintain a guest file for fitness follow-up.
• Prepare and circulate event information to guests together with the Concierge, and promote the Spa offering.
• Follow accounting procedures when collecting charges, drive department revenue and perform other duties as requested by management.

Required profile

• Previous experience in recreation.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills, friendly and professional with guests.
• Knowledge of basic safety procedures and ability to respond to emergencies.
• Ability to stand for long periods and work effectively with other staff.
• Excellent English; additional languages are an advantage.
