Bid Manager, Infrastructure & Marine

About the role

Six Construct, a subsidiary of the BESIX Group and the largest Belgian construction company in the Middle East, is looking for a Bid Manager for its Infrastructure and Marine business. The role leads complex, high-value tenders from start to finish and secures the company's project pipeline across the Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Manage each tender as a standalone project, with full administrative and financial oversight.
• Coordinate internal and external multidisciplinary teams (engineering, planning, procurement, legal, finance, HSE) to deliver compliant, competitive bids.
• Lead cost estimation, pricing strategy and financial modelling in line with target margins and risk exposure.
• Perform contractual and commercial risk analyses, including reviewing international frameworks such as FIDIC.
• Organize site visits, progress meetings and coordination meetings with clients and partners, and lead commercial and technical negotiations.
• Ensure high-quality submissions on time, aligned with corporate governance and internal quality procedures, and support the handover to project delivery teams after award.
• Manage French-speaking projects and stakeholders, drawing on experience in African markets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical field; additional training in commercial management, contract law or project management is an advantage.
• 8-12 years of experience in construction, with at least 5 years in bid management or tendering.
• Proven track record delivering bids for infrastructure and marine projects (ports, quay walls, dredging, coastal works, bridges, heavy civil works).
• Demonstrated experience leading tenders across Africa and/or the Middle East.
• Experience working in, or leading, consortia, joint ventures and multinational bid teams.

Required skills

• Cost estimation, pricing development and financial modelling.
• Understanding of construction methods for marine and infrastructure works.
• Advanced contractual and commercial risk analysis.
• Familiarity with FIDIC and EPC, Design-Build and ECI contracts.
• Stakeholder management, communication and leadership in multicultural, fast-paced environments.
