Blow Moulding Machine Operator – Plastic Manufacturing

About the role

The Blow Moulding Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating extrusion blow moulding machines to produce high‑quality HDPE bottles and jerry cans. The role involves meeting production targets while maintaining low rejection rates and optimal material usage.

Key responsibilities

• Operate EBM/blow moulding machines according to SOPs, monitor parameters such as extruder temperature, blow pressure, and cycle time, and perform changeovers.
• Conduct quality checks on weight, dimensions, appearance, wall thickness, and other specifications, segregating defective products and reporting abnormalities.
• Maintain production targets, optimise cycle time, minimise downtime, and accurately report production and rejection quantities.
• Perform routine machine and mould inspections, keep the work area clean, and report any mechanical or hydraulic issues to maintenance.
• Follow all safety and HSE procedures, wear required PPE, and adhere to LOTO protocols during maintenance.

Required profile

• ITI/Diploma in Plastic Processing, Mechanical or Electrical fields (preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience operating blow moulding machines, preferably with HDPE/PP extrusion.
• Understanding of EBM machine operation, extruder and die‑head functions, and basic hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

Required skills

• EBM machine operation and parison programming.
• Control of extrusion speed, blow pressure, mould cooling, and cycle time.
• Basic troubleshooting, defect identification, and raw material/masterbatch handling.
• Use of basic quality inspection instruments.
