BMS Draughtsman (BIM Modeler)

About the role

A Building Management System (BMS) draughtsman is sought in Dubai to take part in designing and delivering high-quality BMS projects in the building services sector. The role covers producing technical drawings, schematics and documentation in line with project requirements, industry standards and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare BMS shop drawings, schematic diagrams, single-line diagrams and wiring layouts using AutoCAD and Revit/BIM tools
• Develop HVAC control drawings for AHU, FCU, chiller, ventilation, exhaust and pressurization systems
• Prepare control panel GA drawings, control schematics, cable routing layouts and sensor/device location drawings
• Coordinate with BMS, HVAC, electrical engineers and site teams, and review mechanical, electrical and architectural drawings to avoid clashes
• Update drawings after consultant comments and site conditions, and prepare as-built drawings on completion
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs and document control records
• Prepare network topology diagrams, control architecture layouts and communication schematics
• Assist in quantity take-off, coordinate with procurement and project teams, and verify site installation details
• Support consultant submissions, testing and commissioning documentation and O&M drawing packages

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in BMS drafting and coordination within MEP/BMS projects
• Good understanding of HVAC systems, BMS controls and MEP coordination
• Familiarity with international standards and consultant submission procedures
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and specifications, and to work under deadlines

Required skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Revit/BIM experience is an added advantage
• Knowledge of BMS systems such as Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider or Johnson Controls is preferred
