Boarding Academic Tutor

About the role

The Boarding Academic Tutor will support boarding students at the Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai, delivering academic assistance across the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Swiss Baccalaureate programmes. The role is based on‑site within the boarding community, fostering a safe and enriching learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group tutoring for boarding students across all IB stages (PYP, MYP, DP, CP) and the Swiss Baccalaureate curriculum.
• Assist students in developing effective study habits, time‑management skills, and academic confidence.
• Monitor student progress, maintain records, and communicate updates to classroom teachers.
• Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and ensure a secure boarding environment.
• Collaborate with faculty to align tutoring support with classroom objectives.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection practices.
• Experience or familiarity with international curricula such as IB or Swiss Baccalaureate.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, multilingual setting (English required; additional languages a plus).
• Legal right to work in the United Arab Emirates.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the IB framework and its assessment methods.
• Understanding of the Swiss Baccalaureate programme.
• Proficiency with educational technology platforms and learning management systems.
