Business Development Manager

About the role

Etihad Development Company, a subsidiary of Etihad Water & Electricity, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive the origination, bidding and evaluation of renewable energy investment opportunities across the GCC, CIS and Levant regions. The role will focus on IPP/PPP projects, strategic partnerships and M&A activities within the power and utilities sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Support the origination and development of IPP, PPP bids and bilateral/G2G opportunities in power, renewables and utilities.
• Identify, screen and evaluate new market opportunities, strategic partnerships and acquisition prospects.
• Coordinate project development from early‑stage origination through Ready to Build and Financial Close.
• Gather inputs from Technical, Legal, Project Finance and Delivery teams to build robust business cases.
• Conduct feasibility studies, financial modelling, CAPEX/OPEX analysis, risk assessment and project structuring.
• Manage engagement with government entities, partners, lenders, investors and external advisors.
• Prepare and negotiate project and financing agreements, competitive tenders and offer submissions.
• Monitor project progress against milestones and facilitate hand‑over to the Delivery team.

Required profile

• Proven experience supporting or leading projects in international markets, preferably in the Middle East.
• Background in Project Finance, Transaction Advisory or Techno‑Commercial Business Development within renewable power or infrastructure.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience in financial modelling and risk assessment.
• Excellent coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
