Business Development Officer - SME Sales

About the role

The Business Development Officer will focus on acquiring new SME banking customers and driving fee income across multiple product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Source new business banking current accounts and ensure they are funded according to KPI targets.
• Generate fee income through foreign exchange, trade, bancassurance and deposits.
• Prospect targeted markets via phone calls and face‑to‑face visits, presenting all business banking products ethically and professionally.
• Achieve monthly sales targets and maintain relationships to enhance cross‑sell opportunities.
• Adhere to KYC & AML policies during onboarding and maintain accurate CRM records.
• Participate in micro‑marketing activities, business banking events, and handle objections to increase take‑up rates.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business banking sales with a track record of meeting KPI and sales targets.
• Strong understanding of KYC, AML compliance and ability to follow bank policies.
• Excellent communication skills for phone and face‑to‑face prospecting.
• Team player who participates in daily huddles, training and compliance programs.
