Business Development Specialist – Modernization

About the role

KONE Middle East, Turkey & Africa is expanding its modernization business in the UAE. The Business Development Specialist will identify new opportunities, manage complex projects and drive growth of elevator and escalator modernization, especially in infrastructure and PPP segments.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities to position KONE competitively in the UAE modernization market.
• Manage complex business development projects, including infrastructure and public‑private partnership initiatives.
• Coordinate cross‑business‑line implementation of advanced people‑flow solutions and consulting services.
• Leverage external partners to shape KONE’s operations and improve performance in under‑performing segments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven success in business performance and development, preferably in the UAE market.
• Established network with UAE developers, building owners, FM companies and government entities.
• Fluent in Arabic and English with strong stakeholder communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of elevator modernization scopes and safety codes (e.g., EN 81‑80) and UAE authority requirements.
• Ability to qualify, structure and negotiate agreements with business partners.
• Understanding of cost, risk management and business principles.
