Business Insight Analyst – Education

About the role

As a Business Insight Analyst you will act as the primary analytics partner for Cognita’s Education function, turning data into actionable insights that improve outcomes for students and schools. Based in Dubai, you will work within the Education team while reporting to the central data function, building stakeholder relationships and delivering analytical solutions through Power BI dashboards and reports built on trusted enterprise data models.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with school leaders, academic teams and central data specialists to translate business questions into analytical solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that visualise academic, attendance, wellbeing, pastoral and destination data stored in the Databricks platform.
• Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to support Cognita’s Standards for Transformational Education – confident, capable and connected students.
• Ensure data quality, governance and compliance with safeguarding and data‑protection requirements.
• Contribute to the Performance Framework and Intelligence Centre, and explore AI‑powered tools that enhance decision‑making.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a business‑facing analytics, insight or BI role, preferably within education, schools or ed‑tech.
• Proven ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, including school leaders and academic teams.
• Strong understanding of educational performance measures such as attainment, progress and value‑add (desirable).
• Degree in a relevant discipline; Microsoft Power BI certification is a plus.

Required skills

• SQL – ability to query and explore complex data sets.
• Microsoft Power BI – advanced dashboard and report development.
• Databricks – experience working with data stored on the platform.
