Business Unit Head (Gastro), Gulf Region

About the role

Acino, a pharmaceutical company part of Arcera, is hiring a Business Unit Head (Gastro) based in Dubai, UAE. The role reports directly to the Cluster Head, Gulf Region and leads the growth of the Gastro business through marketing and sales strategies, with accountability for sales, profit, market share and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual and long-term business plans aligned with regional and corporate strategies.
• Position Gastro products through localized pricing, placement and promotion, and drive integrated marketing campaigns and brand building.
• Champion product launches, line extensions and brand lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with regulatory and medical affairs.
• Monitor market trends, consumer insights and competitive intelligence, and evaluate pipeline and portfolio expansion initiatives.
• Set objectives, KPIs and development plans for team members and deliver revenue, gross margin and EBITDA targets.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, including forwarding product quality complaints, adverse events and medical enquiries to Quality Assurance, Pharmacovigilance or Medical Affairs, and complete assigned training on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Life Sciences; MBA or marketing postgraduate is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of senior commercial leadership experience in pharma.
• Demonstrated success in brand and portfolio leadership, product launches and sales force execution.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and working with regional and global stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the pharmaceutical business model.
• Proficiency in project management, sales analytics and data-driven decision making.
• Digital mindset and experience using omnichannel tools for HCP engagement and promotion.
