Buyer – Fashion and Clothing

About the role

The Buyer – Fashion and Clothing will be responsible for securing the right products at the best value to support Al-Futtaim Technologies' retail operations in the UAE. You will work closely with the UK team, merchandisers and store teams to develop fashion ranges that reflect the brand identity and meet market demand.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor fashion trends, consumer preferences and seasonal patterns through market visits and analysis.
• Analyse past sales, market data and customer feedback to guide range selection and optimise performance.
• Benchmark competitor pricing and ensure ranges are competitively priced.
• Plan and select fashion ranges by store clustering, price point and cultural relevance.
• Collaborate with the UK team to adapt ranges for the UAE market.
• Work with merchandisers to determine appropriate range and quantity based on historical performance.
• Manage product visual plans and update them according to cancellations and changes.
• Create product training materials for store teams on new initiatives.
• Produce weekly trade analysis and product summaries.
• Proactively review future ranges to align with trading patterns and identify growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Minimum 60 months (5 years) of buying or merchandising experience in fashion or clothing.
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, market dynamics and consumer behaviour.
• Ability to analyse sales data and translate insights into actionable range decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Detail‑oriented with a strategic commercial mindset.
