Buyer - Trading Items and Consumables

About the role

NAFFCO is looking for an experienced Buyer in Dubai to source and negotiate trading items and industrial consumables worldwide, keeping quality, costs and deliveries on track. The role covers supplier sourcing across the UAE, China, India and Europe, commercial negotiations, purchase order follow-up and import documentation and customs coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing and procurement: source and purchase PPE, lubricants, tools, fasteners, packaging, safety equipment and other industrial consumables in line with approved requirements.
• Supplier management: identify, evaluate and maintain suppliers in the UAE, China, India and Europe; obtain and compare quotations against specifications, price, quality and delivery.
• Negotiation: negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times and other commercial conditions to achieve the best total cost of ownership, applying Incoterms such as FOB, CIF, DDP and EXW.
• Purchase orders: prepare and process purchase orders in Oracle ERP, matching approved requisitions, quotations and specifications.
• Delivery management: expedite open orders, coordinate with suppliers, internal stakeholders and logistics teams, and handle shortages, discrepancies and urgent requirements.
• Records: keep procurement records, quotations, order status and supporting documents in Oracle ERP and related files.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of procurement or buying experience, including at least 3 years sourcing trading items, consumables, tools, hardware or similar materials.
• Practical familiarity with anchors and structural hardware (brands such as Hilti, Fischer and Würth useful), wood and packing materials, tools and machinery, hand and cutting tools, fasteners, abrasives and welding consumables.
