Cafeteria Attendant

About the role

The Cafeteria Attendant ensures the smooth operation of the cafeteria area by maintaining cleanliness, handling dishwashing processes, and supporting food service logistics. This role is essential for delivering a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect and sanitize kitchen, store‑room areas, tables, tools, knives and other equipment using appropriate chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock and ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas.
• Use the 3‑compartment sink to clean dishes, inspect, pull and stack cleaned items, and re‑wash any items that do not meet standards.
• Break down dirty bus tubs, empty trashcans, manage dumpster areas and recycle cardboard and other materials.
• Clean and mop all assigned department areas, dispose of glass safely and follow all safety and security policies.

Required profile

• No formal education or prior experience required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Capability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and to reach overhead, bend, twist and stoop.
• Clear, professional communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
• Willingness to follow safety training, report hazards and protect company assets.
