Captain – Outside Catering

About the role

The Captain – Outside Catering leads the execution of banquet and event services for JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, ensuring seamless coordination between the kitchen, service staff and guests. This role is responsible for delivering high‑quality outside catering experiences across the hotel’s diverse venues.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions.
• Prepare and present group charges and checks for payment.
• Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants and coffee‑break areas are ready for service.
• Set tables according to event type and service standards, including centrepieces.
• Inspect cleanliness and presentation of china, glass and silver before use.
• Coordinate special dietary requirements, allergies and meal requests with the kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Follow all company safety, security and uniform policies and report incidents.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests, ensuring satisfaction and professional interaction.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related catering or hospitality experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
