Car Purchaser - Used Car Auctions

About the role

CAARTL, a Dubai-based used-car auction platform and car inspection services provider, is hiring an experienced Car Purchaser for its used-car auctions. The role suits someone who understands the UAE used-car market and has strong vehicle valuation, price negotiation and deal-closing skills. It is a full-time, on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate purchase prices with individual car sellers and evaluate vehicles by make, model, year, mileage, condition and market demand
• Assess seller expectations against wholesale and dealer market values and close deals within approved pricing limits and profitability requirements
• Research UAE used-car prices and trends, and identify high-demand vehicles and profitable opportunities
• Evaluate inspection reports and vehicle condition to set appropriate purchase prices
• Coordinate with the inspection, auction and sales teams, and work with the auction team on dealer offers and buyer interest
• Build and maintain relationships with sellers, explain the purchasing and auction process, and follow up pending negotiations
• Maintain accurate records of discussions, negotiated prices and deal status, and meet assigned purchasing and deal-closure targets

Required profile

• Previous experience in used-car purchasing, vehicle valuation, automotive sales or used-car trading
• Strong understanding of the UAE used-car market and vehicle pricing
• Ability to work under pressure and handle several negotiations at once
• Self-motivated, target-oriented and commercially focused
• Preferred: previous experience as a Car Purchaser, Used Car Buyer, Procurement or Vehicle Acquisition Executive, and familiarity with GCC, American, Japanese and European-spec vehicles

Required skills

• Excellent negotiation, persuasion and deal-closing skills
• Accurate assessment of vehicle resale value and profit margins
• Familiarity with vehicle brands, models, specifications and market demand
• Strong communication and customer relationship management skills
• English is required; Arabic, Hindi or Urdu is an advantage
