Cardiothoracic Surgeon

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon to diagnose and surgically manage conditions of the heart, lungs and other chest organs. The role suits someone with extensive experience in complex cardiothoracic procedures, surgical critical care and the care of patients with cardiovascular and thoracic conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and manage patients with cardiac and thoracic surgical conditions
• Perform complex cardiac and thoracic procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, and thoracic surgeries
• Manage conditions such as coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, aortic disorders and lung diseases
• Carry out preoperative assessments and develop individualized surgical treatment plans
• Provide postoperative care and manage patients in cardiothoracic intensive care settings
• Monitor patients for complications and ensure follow-up care
• Collaborate with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists and other multidisciplinary teams
• Take part in clinical reviews and uphold surgical quality and patient safety

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent internationally recognized primary medical qualification
• Master's degree, postgraduate specialist qualification, fellowship or equivalent in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Significant post-specialization clinical experience in cardiothoracic surgery
• Proven expertise in complex cardiac and/or thoracic procedures
• Strong surgical judgment, clinical leadership and patient-management skills
