Cardiovascular Technician (Echo Cardiographer)

About the role

Royal Health Al Salam Specialized Hospital in Abu Dhabi is hiring a full-time Cardiovascular Technician (Echo cardiographer). The technician performs imaging tests such as echocardiograms and non-imaging cardiovascular evaluations, including exercise tolerance tests, Holter monitoring, event recorders, 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and electrocardiograms, and assists in transesophageal echocardiography.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain patient history, explain procedures and follow pre-screening policies
• Select the appropriate methodology, position the patient and prepare the equipment
• Monitor the patient during the procedure and report changes or emergencies to clinical staff, supervisors and cardiologists
• Recognise abnormal rhythms and notify the physician immediately
• Provide images, data analysis and patient information to the physician for diagnosis
• Maintain accurate patient documentation, including computerised records
• Perform general office duties: maintain stock, assist with purchasing, record procedure codes for billing and schedule patients
• Maintain equipment and supplies, troubleshoot faults and escalate issues to engineers, supervisors and cardiologists

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Technology school
• 6 months of internship in cath lab technology
• Current licence in the country of origin and a DOH licence to practice in the UAE
• Two years of recent related experience as a Cardiology Tech, Interventional/Special Procedure Technologist or equivalent
• Excellent command of spoken and written English; Arabic is advantageous but not essential
• Ability to adapt to a group practice in an industrial environment
