Carpenter – Maintenance Technician

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Carpenter to join the engineering and facilities team at a luxury hotel in Dubai. The role involves responding to guest repair requests and performing a wide range of maintenance tasks to ensure the property remains in top condition.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions and perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical equipment.
• Inspect, clean, lubricate and maintain equipment, identify and operate shut‑off valves and utility controls.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and ensure thorough cleanup of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, lighting, TVs and other guestroom items.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, requisition items as needed and document daily activities for shift hand‑over.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Plumbing repair (e.g., unclogging drains, toilet plunging).
• Carpentry and finish work, including painting and drywall repair.
• Landscaping and sprinkler system maintenance.
• Use of lockout/tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for HVAC scheduling and inventory tracking.
