Chemical Production Manager - Water Treatment Chemicals

About the role

The Chemical Production Manager leads the manufacturing, formulation, recipe management and application support of water treatment chemicals in Dubai. The role covers chemicals used in potable water treatment, wastewater treatment, cooling water systems, boiler water treatment, desalination plants and industrial process applications, working closely with Technical, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations and ensure production schedules are met while keeping quality, cost and reliability high
• Manage batch processing, blending, dosing, mixing and packaging, and optimise capacity and workflow
• Control formulation specifications, batch sheets and process instructions, and ensure compliance with approved formulations
• Manage raw materials, intermediates and finished goods inventory
• Lead lab-to-production scale-up, evaluate alternative raw materials and fix formulation-related production issues
• Support field trials, customer application testing and product validation, and work with Technical Service and Sales on application improvements
• Ensure products meet quality standards, customer specs and regulatory requirements, and partner with QA on non-conformances and audits
• Maintain production, formulation and traceability records, lead root cause analysis and drive efficiency and yield improvements
• Lead, mentor and develop supervisors, team leaders, laboratory personnel and operators, and organise training

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Water Treatment Engineering or a related field
• 7-10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with 3-5 years in leadership of chemical production operations
• Demonstrated experience formulating and manufacturing water treatment chemicals
• Experience in industrial water treatment, wastewater, desalination, cooling water or boiler treatment is highly preferred
