Chemistry Teacher (Science) - Muna British Academy

About the role

Muna British Academy is seeking a Chemistry teacher to start in the 2027-2028 academic year. The post covers Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Key Stage 3, with specialist Chemistry expertise at Key Stages 4 and 5 as the school expands its GCSE/IGCSE and future A-Level provision. The school is part of Aldar Education, a family of schools in the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching across KS3, KS4 and KS5, with a focus on chemistry at KS4 and KS5, using the UK National Curriculum and examination board requirements
• Plan schemes of work, run practical investigations and prepare students for IGCSE, A Level and BTEC science qualifications
• Provide clear feedback on coursework and practical assessments, and take part in departmental moderation and standardisation
• Support all learners, including EAL, SEN and G&T students, and maintain a safe, well-organised laboratory
• Manage behaviour positively, support pastoral needs and safeguarding, and act as a role model
• Take part in departmental planning, professional development, enrichment activities and clubs, and keep accurate records

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
• At least 2 years teaching the English National Curriculum
• Experience in an international school and with EAL students
• Ability to work professionally with a range of stakeholders and to prioritise workload

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge of science and chemistry
• Teaching and assessment skills, including differentiation and inclusive practice
• Communication with parents in a diverse, multicultural environment
