Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead financial governance, reporting and controls for infrastructure projects and business‑unit operations. This senior position ensures accurate financial statements, cash‑flow oversight, regulatory compliance and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end close, maintain general‑ledger integrity, manage accruals, provisions and reconciliations.
• Consolidate project financials – costs, revenue and margins – and prepare management reporting.
• Control accounts payable/receivable, cash‑flow forecasting, payment prioritisation and collections support.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies and VAT documentation where applicable.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activities for projects in collaboration with project managers and quantity surveyors.
• Manage external audits, implement internal controls and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA, CPA or CMA preferred.
• 10‑15+ years of finance experience, including 5+ years in contracting or infrastructure.
• Proven audit leadership experience.

Required skills

• Strong ERP system knowledge.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
