Chief Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead our accounting function in Sharjah. The role focuses on insurance accounting, IFRS compliance and delivering accurate financial information to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure integrity of financial records.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reporting packs.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing, including reconciliations, provisions, accruals and adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS 17, IFRS 16 and IFRS 9 and submit regulatory and statutory reports.
• Coordinate annual audits and work with external actuaries on IFRS 17 calculations.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting procedures and support ERP implementation.
• Supervise and develop finance team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience in insurance accounting and IFRS reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 17, IFRS 16 and IFRS 9.
• Ability to lead a finance team and communicate financial results to senior management.
• Experience with regulatory reporting, audit coordination and actuarial collaboration.
