Chief Accountant – Revenue

About the role

The Roads and Transport Authority seeks a Chief Accountant – Revenue to lead authority‑wide revenue accounting, ensuring full traceability, accuracy and compliance with legislation. You will supervise receivables analysis, system reconciliations and the monthly/annual closure of the receipts system.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee revenue accounting records, guaranteeing legislative compliance and data integrity.
• Manage comprehensive receivables analysis, ageing reports and audit/risk reporting frameworks.
• Administer AR‑GL/system interfaces, resolve discrepancies and supervise system and account reconciliations across RTA agencies.
• Lead monthly and annual closure processes, ensuring completeness of all transactions.
• Set financial procedures for new revenue systems and supervise billing and receivable recording.
• Recommend and implement process improvements, governance enhancements and system integrations to boost accuracy and efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance (2+ years experience) or Master’s degree (0‑1 year experience).
• Proven experience in accounting, reconciliation and financial operations.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to automate data processes.
• Knowledge of anti‑fraud controls, legislative compliance and internal audit practices.
• Experience in budget preparation, financial planning and business process optimisation.
