Chief Specialist – Vehicles Registration

About the role

The Chief Specialist – Vehicles Registration leads the development and implementation of legislation, procedures and controls for vehicle licensing and registration across the Emirate. The role ensures regulatory compliance, accurate traffic data, and effective resolution of complaints, violations and audit findings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update legislation, laws and policies governing vehicle licensing and registration, aligning them with the agency’s strategic objectives.
• Lead the design, management and continuous improvement of vehicle licensing service procedures with competent authorities and trusted agents.
• Oversee registration and licensing processes to guarantee consistent application of approved laws, policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with judicial, traffic and security authorities to manage judicial restrictions on traffic files.
• Monitor vehicle data in the traffic system, identify gaps and drive procedural changes to improve data accuracy and integrity.
• Lead the handling of complaints, requests and audit points, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare public policy documents, reports and performance dashboards for senior management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in vehicle licensing, registration or related regulatory environments.
• Strong knowledge of legislative processes, policy development and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage relationships with government agencies and external partners.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on data integrity and process optimisation.
