Chief Technology Officer (CTO) & Co-Founder

About the role

A Dubai-based tech startup building a high-scale application is looking for a visionary, tech-obsessed and business-savvy Chief Technology Officer who will also act as Co-Founder. You will join the executive team and own the technology strategy, build the foundational infrastructure and scale the engineering team from the ground up. The position is full-time, on-site or hybrid in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Define the technology stack, architecture and long-term development roadmap, ensuring scalability, security and peak performance.
• Own the initial codebase, build prototypes and iterate on the MVP based on early user feedback.
• Recruit, mentor and lead developers, QA engineers and product designers as the company grows.
• Implement cost-effective cloud solutions, DevOps pipelines and CI/CD environments.
• Set up protocols for data privacy, intellectual property protection and compliance with UAE and global digital governance regulations.
• Act as the technical face of the company in venture capital pitches, explaining technical advantages and IP value.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 2+ years leading engineering teams or acting as a tech startup founder/CTO.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent elite-level engineering experience.
• Proven track record of architecting software that has scaled to hundreds of thousands or millions of active users.
• Ability to turn complex technical concepts into clear business strategies for non-technical stakeholders and investors.

Required skills

• Modern programming languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Python, React Native, Flutter, AWS/GCP or equivalent stacks for mobile and web apps.
• Cloud infrastructure, DevOps and CI/CD.
