Civil Engineer

About the role

HDR Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its design and project delivery team in the United Arab Emirates. You will be responsible for translating project scopes into detailed civil engineering designs while ensuring technical compliance, sustainability, and cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop site layouts, grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and related civil works.
• Produce coordinated design packages, drawings, reports, specifications, and calculations for all project stages.
• Conduct feasibility studies, design reviews, and quality assurance checks.
• Prepare calculations and ensure they meet relevant standards and codes.
• Support risk assessments under CDM regulations and assist with QA procedures.
• Perform site visits, risk assessments, and liaise with contractors and subcontractors.
• Attend progress, design coordination, and client meetings to maintain strong relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 120 months (10 years) of civil engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of highway design, grading, paving, drainage, and underground utilities.
• Ability to produce sustainable, cost‑effective, and safe design solutions.
• Experience with design reviews, risk assessments, and QA processes.
