Civil Engineer – QA/QC

About the role

The role involves ensuring that all construction activities meet the required quality standards. You will develop and implement quality plans, conduct inspections, and coordinate with various stakeholders to guarantee compliance with drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and implement Project Quality Plans (PQP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Conduct material inspections and approvals for cement, steel, aggregates, concrete, etc.
• Review and verify material submittals, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants, contractors, and site engineers.
• Raise and close Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and conduct site quality inspections.
• Ensure proper execution of structural works and verify reinforcement before concreting.
• Witness field tests such as slump, cube, and soil compaction tests.
• Maintain quality records, checklists, and documentation.
• Monitor concrete pouring activities, curing procedures, and equipment calibration.
• Conduct internal audits, site quality meetings, and monitor subcontractor performance.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports and assist in project handover documentation.

Required profile

• Experience preparing and implementing PQPs and ITPs.
• Ability to conduct material inspections and approve supplies.
• Proficiency in reviewing submittals, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Strong coordination skills with consultants, contractors, and site engineers.
• Experience raising and closing NCRs and conducting site audits.
• Knowledge of structural works execution and reinforcement verification.
• Familiarity with field testing procedures (slump, cube, soil compaction).
• Capability to maintain comprehensive quality documentation.
• Understanding of ISO standards and safety compliance.
