Civil Estimation Engineer

About the role

Lark Engineering Construction is looking for an experienced Civil Estimation Engineer to join its team in Abu Dhabi. The engineer prepares cost estimates, quantity take-offs, BOQs, tender submissions and commercial proposals for civil construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and BOQs.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings.
• Prepare BOQs, rate analysis and tender pricing.
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and calculate material, labour, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Prepare competitive commercial and technical proposals.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, procurement and commercial teams.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, variations and potential cost risks, and prepare estimates for variations and additional works.
• Maintain cost databases and historical project rates, and ensure tender submissions are accurate and on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in civil estimation and tendering; UAE or GCC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction works, materials and methods.
• Good knowledge of UAE construction practices and market rates.
• Fluent Arabic (spoken and written) is required; Arabic proficiency preferred.
• Candidates currently available in the UAE are preferred.

Required skills

• BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, rate analysis and tender pricing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
