Civil Inspector – Rails & Tracks

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Civil Inspector to join AECOM’s freight facilities operations team in the United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on inspecting railway tracks and associated civil works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and international railway standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect rail and track construction activities, including installation of sleepers, ballast, fastening systems and civil works.
• Verify track alignment, gauge, cant, geometry and levels against approved tolerances.
• Examine earthworks, subgrade preparation, formation layers and concrete structures related to railway infrastructure.
• Monitor welding activities, rail joints, thermite welding and stress‑adjustment procedures.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, material submittals and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Witness and document field testing such as compaction tests, concrete tests, ultrasonic rail testing and track geometry measurements.
• Coordinate with surveyors and other disciplines to confirm compliance with project requirements.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications.
• Experience in civil or railway infrastructure inspection.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced environment.
