Civil Inspector – Stormwater

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Civil Inspector to supervise and inspect stormwater drainage infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role involves ensuring construction complies with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and local authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect pipelines, manholes, drainage structures, and related civil works for compliance with design and standards.
• Witness and review testing activities such as CCTV inspections, leakage, hydrostatic and air testing.
• Verify setting‑out, alignment, invert levels, slopes and gradients of pipelines.
• Monitor excavation, shoring, dewatering, bedding, back‑filling and compaction procedures.
• Coordinate with contractors, surveyors, utilities and multidisciplinary teams to avoid clashes and ensure safe execution.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, photographs, test documentation and support final hand‑over activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 7‑10 years of construction supervision and inspection experience on stormwater, drainage or sewerage projects.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality standards and local authority requirements.
• Proven ability to review Inspection Requests, quality records, test reports and NCR close‑outs.
