Civil Inspector – SWRO Desalination Project

About the role

The Civil Inspector will oversee all civil construction activities for the seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant in Fujairah, UAE. Working closely with the QA/QC team, contractors and engineers, you will ensure that works are executed to approved drawings, specifications, quality and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of foundations, concrete structures, pipelines, tanks and marine works (intake/outfall).
• Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, alignment, levels, dimensions and structural integrity.
• Monitor workmanship and materials, witness concrete pouring, compaction and material testing.
• Identify non‑conformities, raise NCRs and follow up corrective actions.
• Review and approve method statements and inspection test plans (ITPs) before execution.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to HSE policies and safe work practices on site.
• Support hand‑over inspections and project close‑out documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8–12 years of civil inspection experience on construction or infrastructure projects.
• Previous involvement in SWRO desalination or large water‑treatment projects is preferred.
• Experience working in the Middle East, preferably the UAE.
• Certification in quality inspection or QA/QC is an advantage.
