CNC Operator (Composites)

About the role

The CNC Operator will operate and maintain multi‑axis CNC machines in a composites environment, preparing materials, setting up equipment, interpreting engineering drawings, performing quality inspections and ensuring production meets required standards while minimizing waste.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines, prepare stock, fixture parts, conduct quality checks and perform routine maintenance.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and communicate findings to the team.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness, follow preventive maintenance plans and sign off completions.
• Monitor material usage, report waste levels and provide feedback to engineering and supervision.
• Identify health and safety risks and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with multi‑axis CNC machines, mill‑turn centers and low‑volume production.
• Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
• Proactive attitude with initiative for cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Required skills

• Operation of multi‑axis CNC machines.
• Reading engineering drawings, GD&T.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, materials, speeds and feeds.
• Use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers and gauges.
