Commercial Finance Analyst

About the role

The Commercial Finance Analyst provides financial analysis, insight and support that drives commercial decision-making and optimizes business performance. Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, the role analyzes sales data, conducts pricing analysis, evaluates profitability and supports the development and execution of commercial strategies across assigned Business Units.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze sales data, revenue trends and key performance indicators to identify improvement areas and growth opportunities.
• Perform profitability analysis by product line, customer segment and region, and conduct pricing analysis to support pricing decisions and protect margins.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support commercial decision-making.
• Develop financial models and forecasts to support budgeting, forecasting and business planning.
• Support the Finance Business Partner in analyzing historical results, profitability and OPEX variance analysis, and recommend improvements.
• Work with the Accounting team to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in line with Group guidelines.
• Review receivables aging daily, follow up on overdue balances and action plans, and prepare and follow up on debit notes for timely collection from vendors.
• Build relationships with cross-functional teams and deliver analytical projects while supporting Group Finance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Holding or progressing toward an internationally recognized professional qualification (e.g., ACA/ICAEW, CIMA, CPA, CFA, CA).
• 4-6 years of finance experience in a well-developed corporate finance environment, ideally in a multinational company with advanced reporting and data analytics.
• Experience in B2B distribution, FMCG, contracting or retail finance is an advantage.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential).
• Familiarity with data query and management tools such as Access, SQL and Business Objects is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to turn financial data into clear, actionable business insights.
