Commercial General Manager – Light Steel & Aluminium Fabrication

About the role

The Commercial General Manager will lead a dynamic team in the Light Steel and Aluminium fabrication sector, providing both technical and commercial leadership across all factory operations. This senior position is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing profit & loss, and ensuring high‑quality production for a range of sectors including construction, oil & gas, and interior fit‑outs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee complete factory operations, production workflows, and supply‑chain logistics.
• Develop and execute growth strategies to expand market share across construction, infrastructure, and interior fit‑out projects.
• Lead commercial and technical evaluation of bids, negotiate contracts, and close high‑value sales.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with developers, consultants, contractors, and other key industry stakeholders.
• Identify emerging market trends, competitor activities, and new product opportunities within the metal and structural steel sectors.
• Manage the financial health of the business, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with steel fabrication codes, standards, and quality requirements.

Required profile

• 10+ years of proven experience in architectural metal works, light steel/aluminium fabrication, or related manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or an MBA.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve annual revenue targets and gross profit margins.
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication codes, standards, and welding processes.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and communication skills.
