Commis 1 - Bulgari Resort Dubai

About the role

Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, a portfolio of brands owned by Marriott International, is hiring a Commis 1 for its resort in Jumeirah Bay Island, Dubai. This is a full-time, non-management kitchen position focused on food preparation and basic cooking.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food, and wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients, then prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist.
• Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Test foods to check they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality during preparation.
• Set up and break down the workstation and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives and equipment, and check appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents and injuries, and complete safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, keep proprietary information confidential and protect company assets.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues, support the team and meet quality expectations.
• Be able to stand, sit or walk for long periods, reach overhead and below the knees, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.
