Commis 1 – Cold Kitchen (Full‑Time)

About the role

Southern Sun Abu Dhabi is seeking an enthusiastic Commis 1 for the Cold Kitchen. The role involves supporting the Chef de Partie in preparing salads, cold starters, sandwiches and other chilled dishes to the hotel’s high standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present salads, cold starters, sandwiches, canapés, dressings and other cold kitchen dishes following recipes and portion controls.
• Handle fresh ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, herbs, meats, seafood and cheeses, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards in the cold kitchen and related areas.
• Assist with buffet, banquet, à la carte and special event requirements.
• Monitor stock levels, minimise waste and support inventory control.

Required profile

• Relevant culinary qualification or formal food‑preparation training.
• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, hotel or catering environment.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Organised, reliable and eager to learn.
