Commis 1 – Culinary Assistant (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

The Ritz‑Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal is seeking a Commis 1 to support the Food & Beverage team in delivering the brand’s Gold Standards. The role involves preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, maintaining quality and safety standards, and collaborating with kitchen and service staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Pull frozen items for thawing, maintain food logs and ensure proper portioning and garnish.
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods and inform chefs of excess items for daily specials.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling and employee coaching as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting maintenance issues or unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• At least three years of relevant culinary experience.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift objects up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting and reaching.
