Commis 1 – Employee Dining Restaurant

About the role

We are seeking a Commis 1 to join the Employee Dining Restaurant at The Ritz‑Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal. The role involves preparing special meals, ensuring food quality, and supporting kitchen operations in a high‑end hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, substitute items and cold foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters and monitor food quality and quantity.
• Pull items from freezer storage, thaw them safely and ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish.
• Maintain food logs and communicate menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess food to chefs and service staff.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching employees.
• Follow all company safety, security and food‑safety policies; report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Stand, walk, bend, lift and carry objects up to 25 lb for extended periods.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lb.
• Clear, professional communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
