Commis 1 – Rialto at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab

About the role

The Commis 1 will support the Rialto kitchen at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, preparing ingredients and dishes to the highest standards in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, measure, mix and prepare meal ingredients, sauces and seasonings according to established recipes.
• Wash, peel, chop vegetables, fruits and meats with precision, including marinating and seasoning as required.
• Execute cooking techniques and plating under the guidance of the Demi Chef or Chef de Partie.
• Document inventory, monitor stock levels and alert supervisors of low supplies.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers and microwaves safely and accurately.
• Follow food safety and hygiene protocols for handling, storage and disposal of food.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related hospitality discipline (formal training preferred).
• 1‑2 years experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a luxury hotel or resort.
• Strong communication, positive attitude, teamwork mindset and willingness to learn.
