About the role

Apt Resources is seeking a passionate Commis 1 – Sushi to join the culinary team of a prestigious 5‑star luxury hotel on the Red Sea coast. This entry‑level position focuses on preparing authentic sushi and Japanese dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare sushi, sashimi and other Japanese items following traditional techniques and hotel standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station.
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Assist with inventory management and proper storage of fish and ingredients.
• Collaborate with the kitchen brigade to deliver timely service.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Commis 1 or similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine‑dining environment.
• Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen.
• Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Currently residing in the UAE.
