Commis 3 - Kitchen Assistant

About the role

SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences, a luxury 5-star city hotel belonging to Ennismore under the Accor group, is hiring a Commis 3. The hotel has 946 units across 75 floors in Downtown Dubai and offers 254 hotel rooms, 321 hotel apartments and 371 branded residences.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping and storing food before use
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using kitchen utensils and equipment
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables where required
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes
• Serve food in proper portions onto dishes, plates, mugs and bowls, with correct portion, arrangement and garnish for waiters and guests
• Keep food storage areas clean and ensure food is stored at the correct temperature according to HACCP guidelines
• Follow food safety and handling policies and personal hygiene procedures
• Notify the manager if food does not meet specifications and report appliance and freezer issues to facility management
• Monitor food quantities and portions to control waste, and stay on duty until the next shift takes over or until discharged by the Head Chef or Senior Chef
• Communicate assistance needs during busy periods to the Chef

Required profile

• Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects of up to 20 kg without assistance
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for an extended period or an entire shift, and to reach overhead and below the knees
• Manual ability to use, carry and operate kitchen equipment
• Ability to work under demanding and strenuous conditions
